In the early '60s, motorboating champion Nando Dell'Orto installed a 12-cylinder Ferrari engine on a three-point boat built in 1953 by Timossi Shipyards, intended for inboard competition in the 800 kg class. The engine had been developed by Rinaldo Tinarelli, nicknamed the "magician". The boat's structure, made of solid wood crossbeams and covered with marine plywood, formed a flexible yet robust whole, capable of withstanding the stresses of competition. The engine fairing and stern fin, painted red with Ferrari emblems, soon became a symbol of aggressiveness and power.
